Textually has word of plans by the Russian government to introduce an authentication service for Vodka.
By sending the Serial number of the bottle to a designated short code, they will get a response by SMS certifying (or not) the product.The project is an initiative by State run Rosspirtprom, the company responsible for the sale of 60% of strong alcohol in the country and distributor of the top brands.
Counterfeit Vodka is a huge problem in Russia, hence initiatives like this one. Of course, if you could send an SMS and have Vodka arrive…

ROFL, Russians rock.
Actually, it’s a good service, since there are many cases people got poisoned by bad unlicensed vodka over there.
