Researchers Want to Replace Mouse with Mobile Phones

mobile technology

UK researchers are figuring out a way to exploit camera phones as a mouse. According to PCWorld, they have developed a mobile app enabling camera phones to mimic mouse capabilities like scrolling and swiveling.

I don't know with you but I'm totally comfortable with my good old wireless mouse with maple leaf design on it. Well, this is not exactly what the researchers have in mind.

Tapping the power of Bluetooth wireless technology, this new software enables camera phone users to control PC screen. Moreover, the bigger dream for this new invention is to empower users to interact with large public display screens to get more information or buy items like train tickets.

This is currently in its early stages of development with so many hurdles to sidestep. If successful, it will run on Symbian and Windows Mobile OS.
